University Club Denver Wedding

This regal University Club Denver wedding was one for the books! The formal venue, delicate details and beautiful Denver fall scenery amounted to an amazing Denver wedding that Brittany and I adored.

Brittany and I bounced around while photographing this wedding, starting at two different Denver homes for getting ready, Cheeseman Park for some wedding party, and finally, The University Club for the ceremony and reception. While I had spent a lot of time around the club, I had never been inside the historic venue, and was excited to be able to photograph inside.

Upon arriving at The University Club (located at Sherman St & 17th), I knew that it was a historic building. From the beautiful wood paneling, to furniture and adornments on the walls, I could tell that it was not a recent build. I later found out that this amazing building was dedicated in 1895 and has since undergone renovations in 1923, 1957 & 1980.

The club had ample space and included eight expansive rooms, two bars and other common areas. The College Room, where the ceremony and dinner was held, was a large ballroom with beautiful wood floors and paneled walls. The outside walls were lined with stained glass squares decorated with various college crests. The room also housed a gorgeous fireplace where Mallory and Ted said their vows.

As a Denver city wedding photographer, I was thrilled when I was asked to second shoot this University Club Denver wedding in the heart of the city. I was also thrilled when we had the opportunity to photograph Mallory and Ted in the neighboring streets, parking lots and alleyways surrounding the venue. Being able to think creativity, using the juxtaposition of formal wedding attire with the more urban elements like buildings, concrete and streets, made for a lot of fun and creative images.
