Denver Brown Palace Wedding – Brittny & Chris

The Denver Brown Palace is a historic venue located on Broadway between 17th and Tremont Place, near the Denver 16th Street Mall. The hotel was built in 1892 (one year after the Denver Oxford Hotel) and is still fully operational today. While this was my first Denver Brown Palace wedding, I had visited the hotel many times before.

One of my favorite things about the hotel is the afternoon tea that they host daily. The tea takes place in the lobby below a giant stained glass ceiling. Tea includes an array of pastries and sandwiches to be eaten while mingling over live piano music. It has become a family tradition to get together for tea with my mom, grandma and great-aunt.

Since I knew so much about the venue, I was thrilled when Taylor Powers asked me to second shoot this gorgeous Denver Brown Palace wedding. I was excited that I had the opportunity to see the building in a new light and to capture portraits in the unique vintage setting.

The wedding was nothing short of beautiful. From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the reception, each space was equally as stunning and intricate. I was amazed at how well the hotel had been preserved. All of the ornamentation in the halls, stairways, rooms and ballrooms was clearly cared for diligently.

While looking through the images, I kept feeling compelled to edit the images in black and white. With all of the beautiful adornments in the hotel, and Brittny and Chris’ formalwear, they looked like they could be from a 1920’s film. I absolutely adored Brittny’s form-fitted gown with beads that adorned every inch.

If you are looking to have an elegant and regal feeling wedding, this is a great venue for you. Every part of the Denver Brown Palace is full of beautiful details, and rich history, which sets it apart from the rest.
